As the Controller, you will:
- Ensure the accuracy of consolidated financial statements for Galloway Company and its entities.
- Collaborate on the design and structure of accounting systems while overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly transactions.
- Serve as a key liaison with auditors and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Lead comprehensive financial analysis and work closely with the Director of Finance on budgeting and forecasting.
- Supervise and coach the accounting department team, ensuring their professional growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the general ledger system and closing processes.
- Post month-end entries and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate financial statements.
- Generate financial reports and perform in-depth analysis using the Biznet reporting tool.
- Maintain compliance with Sales and Use Tax regulations.
- Oversee inventory valuation, fixed asset tracking, and treasury management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead implementation strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with plant team members and understand manufacturing operations.
- Handle additional accounting and finance-related projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3–5 years of leadership experience supervising an accounting department (preferred)
- Public accounting and manufacturing experience (preferred)
- CPA certification (preferred)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Inquisitive mindset for investigating issues and driving process improvements
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
